Before sunrise, one listener wakes to a breath-like tone that would normally vanish beneath routine noise. For once, they leave it uncovered.
They move through the city before traffic, reach open ground, stop beside a river, walk into the coast and remain outside after dark. Wind gives warning before weather turns. Water changes the pace. Terrain offers shelter. Small sounds become useful information.
No machine activates, no message arrives and modern life is not rejected. The world continues as it was. Attention is the only thing that changes.
